How to Take Preorders for Avon Gift Baskets

The perfect time to start taking orders for holiday gift baskets is The end of November or the first of December. You could use the simple method very similar to school fundraisers and create one order form for all of your orders. This cuts down on printing expenses and it looks professional to have an order form. You should keep your order form in a binder some place where the form won't get loss or damaged. You could even make two identical copies to play it safe. When you take orders, make sure that you receive 50% or all of your money up front and give clients a receipt for the amount they paid including any amounts that they may owe. Let them know when their order will be ready and give them a follow-up call two days before you deliver their order. Make sure you have their phone number handy.

Simply let people you know that you will be making gift baskets for the holidays and ask them if they would like to place an order. If they are not ready to order at that time, ask them to remember you when they are doing their holiday shopping.

You could have sample baskets or you could allow clients to customize their own basket by placing an order then you charge a fee to rap or arrange products in gift baskets. The easiest way for myself is to just have the baskets already made and allow clients to choose which one they want.

If you are very serious about this a great way to earn money for the Christmas holiday is to purchase the bundles that are on sale in the month of November. Try to budget shop for supplies at craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michael's especially when they have store sales. When ever I shop at Hobby Lobby, I visit their site and print their 40% off coupon. You can get that coupon here:

You could take the baskets to your work place or even take pictures and email the content descriptions to people that you know. Don't forget that this is the time of year that people are spending tons of money on their children so creating a few baskets with kiddie stuff in them would be a great idea. Also you don't have to put all Avon stuff in the basket but you should be creative and have fun!

  1. This is a great blog post/article! Did you have any problems getting orders since you are pre-ordering and didn't have the items on the spot?

  2. Hi Victoria, My husband and I are currently starting our home based business which is Ker-Sel Baskets with avon products. I'd like some feedback on where or how is the best way to get orders. Also i'd like information on supplies. Do you order or just go to local hobby lobby store and get items? Any feedback is helpful.

    1. Try getting supplies from Dollar Tree. Everything is a dollar and they really have nice supplies. Another idea is to shop at thrift shops for baskets and supplies that are new or gently used.
