Success Tips for Packing Large Orders

If you are someone that is use to packing a lot of orders then this blog post may not be for you. Lets say you have fifty orders and more to pack. Today I want to share with you how I successfully pack my large orders. The goal is to pack those orders as accurately and fast as you possibly can.

1. The first thing to do is take out the list of orders that people initially made.

2. The second thing to do is pull out your invoice. Take a look at it to see if there are items that Avon did not ship for what ever reason. If there are items that were not received, take a look at your list of orders to see who ordered those items. Make a note of this with the reasons why those items were not shipped. These are the people that you will be calling to notify them about their order.

3. After you've looked the invoice over and before you pack your orders is the time to call your clients to let them know that their order is back and being processed. I learned years ago that the sooner I notify clients about orders, the faster I can collect their money. At this time you can on a separate piece of paper write down a delivery date and time for your orders but you should not give them a total amount for their order yet. Simply let them know that you will call them again with their total amount due the day before you deliver or they pick their orders up.

Why do I do this? Unfortunately there are those times when packing orders that we realize that Avon did not process our order correctly. You want to first make sure that all items that have been ordered are there before you give them their total. Now you can also check your entire order going down your long list of orders before you make that initial call to make sure everything is there. It is all up to you. If there are any surprises, they will show up soon enough. This is the time to notify clients that there is an issue with their order but you would be glad to reorder or take a new order if they desire to do so. If something like this happens make sure that Avon did not charge you for those items that are missing. When you talk with your client, tell them that you are sorry about this and please do not talk badly about the Avon company. Give them a simple reason and a solution and why not give them a few extra samples for the delay.

4. So now is the time to start packing those orders. Are you still using hand written receipts? They are too time consuming unless you do not have a computer. You can print your clients receipts right from the Avon Representatives site. This is a good time to turn your computer on and have your Avon boxes and bags handy. Make sure every client gets a new brochure, samples, and a receipt. It's pretty easy from here. Go down the long list starting from order number one. Once you have packed that order, put a check mark in front of the order to let yourself know that you have packed that order. Make sure that you have double checked the order and have written the clients name on the bag. The orders that have been packed already should be put in an empty Avon box.

5. After that its even easier. Just go down your long list until you are finished and don't forget to call those clients before you pack their orders to let them know that you have received their order and that it is being processed. Again this is a good time to let them know about any items that are missing from their order. Just a recap - call them again the day before pick-up or delivery to give them their total and a delivery or pick-up time and date.

6. Don't forget to notify Avon about any problems with your order. Make sure that you and your clients have been charged the correct amounts for orders.

Tip: If you have orders from the same place: Example - maybe you have people that have placed orders from one office building. Keep their orders separate from anybody else's. Keep their list of orders separate. This just keeps things easier. Organizing your list of orders will makes this move a little bit smoother.
