The Seven P's to Avon Success!

1. Patience


Patience While Taking Orders

This is key because there are those times when clients are just undecided especially when taking orders over the phone. Often orders are large and the rep. will need to repeat the order just to make sure the correct order is taken. This takes a lot of patience. The sales rep. should never indicate that he or she is getting tired or frustrated.

Patience While Giving Skin Consultations

The skin consultation may or may not include using samples to see what products work best on a client. The products may include personal care items like lotion, body washes, make-up remover etc.. The consultation may also include products needed to do facials so it may take some time to see which products & colors work best on clients.

2. Prompt

Being prompt is a key part of the success of the Avon rep. When a person inquires about placing an order, the sales rep. should respond as quickly as possible. In fact every concern that a client may have should be responded to asap!!  The client must never feel that needs are not met in a timely manner.

How fast clients receive orders is very important also. As soon as I receive my clients orders, I contact them that day and let them know that I have their orders. This will determine how fast I can collect any money owed for orders.

3. Passionate

Is Avon a true passion of yours or are you just selling because you want to earn some extra money? I sell Avon because it is a passion of mines. I think it helps to choose careers that people are passionate about. If this is something that a person is doing only because they need to earn extra money, this is fine but the client should NEVER know that. The rep. should show just as much professionalism as the person that sales because they love what they are doing.

4. Punctual

Being slowful in business just does not work! Being able to take and deliver orders in a timely manner is a plus. Being able to service clients and respond to their needs as promised is key. For example: If the rep. tells a client that he or she will call tomorrow at 3:00 pm then this is what needs to happen. Too many unfulfilled promises will result in the client looking for another more responsible rep.

5. Pushy

Are you a pushy sales person? There is no need to be this way. In fact this is the best way to lose clients. Avon is so easy to sell. Either a person will want to purchase products after viewing brochures or they won't. I always tell people that its as easy as 1,2,3...1. We pass out brochures. 2. The clients decides if they want to place an order or not. 3. If they want and order, we place the order.
 
There is never a time that we need to be pushy. Even in those events that clients just do not seem to want the order or collecting money for the order seems impossible.  After I have called a client twice about an order, then the rest is history. As we all know, we work on a schedule. If clients no longer seemed interested, I resell their products to future clients. If the order is too large, I simply ship it back to Avon if I can not afford to use the order as a part of my inventory.

6. Power of 3

The power of 3 simply means speaking to three people each day about the Avon opportunity. This could mean people that are interested in selling or using Avon products. If the Avon rep. uses the power of 3 selling method, then surely an increase in sales or recruits will happen. The biggest thing to remember is to do this DAILY.

7. Parties

Parties will increase sales tremendously. This is a great way to sale to many clients at the same time. This is a great opportunity to allow clients to sample products and make purchases on the spot.  These can be very fun opportunities. They can be done as a birthday party or planned during a ladies night out. Believe it or not the Avon opportunity can be shared as a little princess party for girls. Ideas for this occasion are endless!
